Named after a local term for cheerful chatter "zi4 zi1 zaa4 zaa4 吱吱喳喳".
JIJA is built around the joy of connection—bringing people together over food, tea, and conversation.

CUISINE
JIJA’s is inspired by the rustic and lively cooking traditions of Yunnan and Guizhou. Stimulated by her travels through Southwest China, Cheffe Vicky Lau offers a fresh take on regional dishes that balance intensity with finesse. The flavors are vibrant, and comforting—sour, spicy, and aromatic—reflecting the character and spirit of the region.

Chefs
Head Chef Sean Yuen, brings a youthful dynamism and contemporary flair to traditional flavors, while Pastry Chef Victor Hung, known for his artistry and ability to bridge Chinese and French pastry traditions. Together, the duo presents a restaurant that honors heritage while embracing creativity and warmth.


THE SPACE
Designed as a modern teahouse and vibrant bistro with the spirit of Southwest China. JIJA is intimate yet lively, with accents drawn from the region’s landscapes and cultural craftsmanship. Elements of dark woods, muted silvers, and rich textiles inspired by Yunnan’s Miao weaving tradition evoke a sense of place, while thoughtful design touches—such as a central tea lantern and a vibrant display of house pickles—infuse the restaurant with charm and personality.
